VietJet Air opens Ho Chi Minh City-Bangkok flights
VietJet Air, a private budget carrier in Vietnam, launched on the first day of Lunar New Year, February 10, a new route from Ho Chi Minh City to Bangkok. It has become the first private airline in Vietnam to launch an international flight route. The 10th route operated by the carrier uses the Airbus 320 aircraft. As of February 14, the airline had transported more than 1,600 passengers, a Tuoi Tre newspaper report said February 17. Luu Duc Khanh, CEO of VietJet Air, said the airline has seven flights per week on its latest route, and the number could increase later. The budget carrier now has more than 300 flights per week with six brand new Airbus A320 aircraft. There are seven carriers now offering flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Bangkok.
